3M Scotchlite 680CR red reflective striping is flexible, enclosed-lens, engineer-grade retroreflective vinyl converted through FDC 6801 into selected narrow roll widths. It returns incident light toward its source for nighttime visibility on suitable commercial graphics.

Adhesive and handling

Removable with heat and/or chemicals from most suitable substrates within the specified warranty period; Comply air-release channels help trapped air escape during installation. Sliding and repositioning are installation features before firm pressure is applied; they do not mean the finished graphic can be repeatedly peeled up and reused.

Uses and compatibility

Use for commercial fleet graphics, trucks, buses, vans, rail graphics, identification markings, emblems, striping and non-regulated indoor or outdoor signs. This graphic film is not automatically a substitute for regulated vehicle conspicuity tape or a specified traffic-sign system. Verify the complete project requirements.

These are colored 680/680CR films for cut graphics and approved screen-printing systems. They are separate from the IJ680/IJ680CR printable products; do not assume general inkjet compatibility.

Roll selection and equipment

Select the required width and roll length in Size. Ten yards equals 30 feet; 50 yards equals 150 feet. Verify narrow-media support, pinch-roller placement and reflective-film cutting settings before production. These rolls have no sprocket holes. FDC 6851 is the separate punched configuration for sprocket/pin-feed equipment; the feed configurations are not interchangeable.

Installation and care

Apply dry. Follow the 3M product bulletin: 50–100°F on flat surfaces without rivets, and 55–100°F on riveted, curved or corrugated surfaces. Prepare the surface, check for condensation and test adhesion before production. 3M does not recommend stainless steel, chrome or low-surface-energy substrates without specific evaluation. Avoid abruptly snapping film up, which can damage the reflective layer.

Clean with a wet, non-abrasive, solvent-free cleaner suitable for high-quality painted surfaces, following 3M guidance. Use approved application tapes and protection where required.

Service life and storage

3M lists expected unprinted-film performance of nine years on vehicles and seven years on rail applications under the stated flat, vertical outdoor conditions; these are unwarranted expected periods. Color, exposure, processing and the component system affect actual life and warranty coverage. Unprocessed shelf life is no more than three years from manufacture under recommended storage conditions.
