3M Scotchcal ElectroCut 7725 tomato red vinyl striping is a nominal 2 mil cast film with clear permanent pressure-sensitive adhesive, converted into narrow rolls for decorative lines, borders, lettering and graphics. The clear synthetic liner helps position and assemble multicolor graphics and view the layout through the backing.

Uses and compatibility

Use for commercial and industrial lettering, emblems, labels, point-of-purchase displays, general signage, striping, vehicle markings and two-way window graphics. The film has the same color on both sides. Test adhesion, opacity and appearance on the intended surface; some colors are less opaque than others.

Follow 3M instructions for compatible flat surfaces, simple curves and riveted applications. Do not assume suitability for deep recesses, compound contours or a complete vehicle wrap.

Cutting, imaging and roll sizes

Designed for electronic cutting and prespaced graphics. Screen printing and compatible narrow-width thermal-transfer systems are supported; this is not general-purpose solvent, eco-solvent, latex or UV inkjet print media. Follow the current approved component and imaging instructions.

Select the required width and length from Size. Ten yards equals 30 feet; 50 yards equals 150 feet. Selected standard colors also have 6-inch x 25-yard rolls (75 feet) and 1-1/2-inch x 50-yard rolls. The selected narrow width is supplied, not a full-width master roll. Confirm cutter minimum media width and pinch-roller support before ordering.

These unpunched rolls are for compatible friction-feed equipment. 7775 is the separate punched configuration for sprocket/pin-feed equipment; the two feed configurations are not interchangeable.

Application and care

Apply to clean, properly prepared compatible surfaces at or above 50°F, following the current 3M instructions. Wet or dry application may be used where appropriate. Test composites, plastics and painted surfaces before production. For cleaning, use a mild non-abrasive product suitable for the surface and test it first; avoid abrasive scrubbing.

Durability and storage

The supplier lists outdoor durability up to eight years for the series. Actual performance and warranty coverage vary with color, finish, geographic region, exposure, processing and the approved component system; transparent and metallic selections can have shorter ratings. This is not a blanket eight-year warranty. Store in the original packaging, clean and dry, and follow the applicable 3M shelf-life guidance.
