Siser® ColorPrint PU Extra is a white, semi-gloss polyurethane printable heat transfer material developed for nylon and other challenging textile applications. It allows print-and-cut decorators to add detailed full-color artwork to compatible apparel and accessories without assembling a design from multiple solid film colors. Siser also calls this product ColorPrint Extra PU.
What makes ColorPrint PU Extra different?
Choose this media when the project calls for a printable material with nylon compatibility. Siser identifies uses including canvas items, bags, shoes and other difficult-to-personalize accessories. Compatibility still depends on the actual item: coated surfaces, finishes, seams and temperature sensitivity can affect results, so test the intended substrate and complete press process before production.
Compatible printers and fabrics
ColorPrint PU Extra supports compatible solvent, eco-solvent and latex inks and printers. It is not for desktop aqueous inkjet, toner or sublimation equipment. Siser lists nylon, cotton, polyester, cotton/polyester blends and leather among compatible materials. Confirm a suitable media profile and allow for the ink manufacturer’s drying requirements before masking.
Roll sizes and ordering
- 20 in × 25 yd — SKU 9424-2008-002.
- 30 in × 25 yd — SKU 9424-3008-002.
- 54 in × 25 yd — SKU 9424-5408-002.
Each roll is 75 linear feet long. Select the roll width that fits your printer and production workflow. White describes the blank media, not the color of the finished printed design. These are rolls of printable film, not precut transfers or decorated garments.
Application workflow
- Print, contour cut and weed the graphic using appropriate equipment settings.
- Transfer the design using Siser TTD Easy Mask or TTD High Tack Mask. Transfer mask, cover sheets and tools are sold separately.
- Preheat the item for 2–3 seconds where its construction and heat tolerance permit.
- Cover the positioned transfer and press at 305°F / 151°C for 15 seconds with medium pressure.
- Peel warm/hot following Siser’s current ColorPrint Extra PU guidance.
Use the settings for the current PU product rather than the different settings published for legacy ColorPrint Extra.
Wash and care
Wait 24 hours before the first wash. Machine wash cold with mild detergent. Follow both the transfer and garment care requirements when drying. Do not dry clean or bleach. Liquid fabric softener is not recommended.
